I can't believe it's been a month since I made my first blog post on my newly published website. I am beyond thankful for the support from my family, friends, and customers!
On June 8, a dream that I hadn't even dared to dream out loud...came true!
I've always been crafty and a little over a year ago I attended a sign painting class hosted by some vendors at the hospital where I was working. As I stood sanding, staining, and painting wood to create my sign I was "in the zone". I absolutely loved it! I helped the other people around me with their signs and the next day one of my co-worker told me she noticed how much I seemed to enjoy what I was doing and said "girl, you were killin' it!" I was pretty unhappy in my job at the time due to the stress and the very long commute. I remember looking at my co-worker and saying "THAT...THAT is what I want to do for a job!!" And then shaking my head, believing it could never happen, I put my head down and got back to work at a job I didn't enjoy, which was taking a toll on my body, mind, and spirit. A few months later I left that job and through the process of getting healthy again, I began creating. Slowly I started to make things for friends, and to sell, and my baby business was born. Over the last nine months I've learned a lot, and with the support of my family and friends I advertised the first DIY Wood Sign Painting Workshop wondering if anyone would really want to come paint with me. Well...thankfully they did! There were 13 lovely ladies who came out and we had a GREAT time!!
I can't wait to host more workshop and expand the things I'm able to offer customers. I would love to meet you and have you come paint with me at an upcoming workshop! Thank you so much!!
